Ms. Hazel Stephanie Kusa, a graduate of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, and a seasoned Human Resources (HR) Officer in the Government of Kenya, is making a difference in Public Service by championing youth involvement in the sector. Ms. Kusa, who graduated from MMUST in 2015 with a Bachelor of Business Management (Business Administration Option), is currently the Head of HR at the Nairobi Rivers Commission (NRC), under the State Department for Devolution. Prof. Franklin Wabwoba
Professor of Information Technology | University Leader | Digital Education & Green Computing Advocate
An accomplished academic and strategic leader with over three decades of experience in higher education, ICT, and university administration. Currently serving as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic, Research & Student Affairs) at Karatina University, Prof. Wabwoba has held key leadership roles including Chair of department, Director of Quality Assurance, Dean of Computing and Informatics and Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor at Kibabii University. He has taught at Eldoret Polytechnic; Muji secondary school; Friends School, Kamusinga; Booker Academy of Mumias Sugar Company; Masinde Murilo University of Science and Technology; Kibabii University and Karatina University. He has and serves as a peer reviewer for Commission for University Education, Inter-University Counsel for East Africa and Namibia Commission for Higher Education.
He holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (2010-2013) and is recognized as the first Professor of Information Technology in Kenya. A prolific researcher with over 100 peer-reviewed publications, his work focuses on green computing, digital education, cybersecurity, and sustainable ICT in developing economies. He has mentored many graduated students some of whom are associate professors within and outside Kenya.
Prof. Wabwoba has secured over KSh. 245M in research grants, developed and accredited multiple academic programs, and established international partnerships with organizations such as Oracle, Cisco, IBM, and Google. He is also an experienced drama director and adjudicator, having won numerous national awards.
A visionary leader, certified in e-learning, quality management, and strategic governance, he champions digital transformation, curriculum innovation, and equitable access to education across Kenya, East Africa and Africa mainly.
